My name is Margaret Mielczarek and I am an Accredited Clinical and Sports Dietitian and Nutritionist (with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics/Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Science) from Deakin University).

I am also a Freelance Writer and regularly contribute articles to various media outlets on a range of topics, including health, nutrition and wellness.

I have over 10-years experience working as a dietitian and have worked in a variety of nutrition and dietetic settings, including in clinical, community and private practice.

My experience as a dietitian to-date has enabled me to refine my practice and skill as a dietitian, translating complex nutrition theory into a practical and achievable approach.

While I understand everyone is different and no-one diet is suitable for everyone, my particular passion (both personally as an endurance athlete, and professionally) is in plant-based nutrition and sports nutrition.

I started Fuel Right Nutrition (FRN) – an online nutrition service – in 2013 because I’m passionate about helping people fuel right, to feel right – for health and performance in sport and in life.

Since then I’ve had the privilege of working with a large number of clients and athletes, including triathletes, swimmers, cyclists, runners and more.

My main focus is on educating and empowering the athlete and active individual through individualised nutrition anytime, anywhere.

Being a super busy, endurance athlete myself, while also having experienced significant autoimmune issues (extensive, whole body eczema) I not only understands the theory behind the nutrition principles and best practice guidelines but know how to put this theory into practice – to make it work for you!

Personal Bests and Achievements 

In my spare time, I’m also a competitive, age-group, long course triathlete. I have competed in four full iron-distance events, 10+ half iron-distance events and have represented Australia at the 2018 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in South Africa.

I’m is also a competitive middle-to-long distance runner.

My most recent personal best time across the half marathon (21.1km) distance was at the Gold Coast Half Marathon in 2018, where I achieved a personal best time of 1:36:14.
